“It is a great honor to be an Entrepreneur Of The Year Award finalist in the Greater Los Angeles area- thank you EY,” said Julien Uhlig, CEO of Arensis. “When we set up our headquarters at LACI in 2016, we did so to make an economic impact for the region and to utilize the incredible resources at the incubator to advance our operations in markets around the world. It has proven to be extremely successful and we are now well on our way mobilizing the future of decentralized energy globally.”

Headquartered in Los Angeles with offices in the UK, Germany, Austria and Hong Kong, Arensis helps customers around the world reduce energy costs, monetize waste streams and manage energy consumption and demand. Biomass to energy units, engineered by its German technology subsidiary, Entrade, fit inside a 20-foot shipping container and have been deployed around the world including parts of England, Scotland, Japan, Italy, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Puerto Rico and India, as well as a demo unit in Los Angeles. In addition to providing low cost energy solutions to industry, Arensis enables necessary grid alternatives for disaster relief. The unit is now in the Fajardo region supplying power to the Fajardo Inn where it will utilize waste streams from hurricane debris and locally grown biofuels.

Arensis has also partnered with Schneider Electric (see video) to enhance global operations and Entrade’s position as the most advanced Micro – Combined Heat and Power (CHP) system on the market.

“As one of LACI's portfolio companies, we are incredibly proud of the work Arensis and their CEO Julien Uhlig have done to help with disaster relief efforts in Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria,” stated Matt Petersen, President and CEO of LACI. “Congratulations to Julien on being a finalist for the Entrepreneur Of The Year award!"
